Privacy Policy
BayCast is built by Reedy's Rigs for Australian offshore anglers. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and how to contact us. Placeholder — final policy to be reviewed before public launch.
What we collect
- Account email — required to manage your subscription. Stored encrypted at rest.
- Saved GPS marks — stored locally in your browser (localStorage). They never leave your device unless you explicitly export them.
- Anonymous usage — page views, viewport regions, and feature use, aggregated for product improvement. No personal identifiers attached.
What we don't collect
- Your real-time location.
- Your fishing marks unless you opt in to cloud sync (off by default).
- Your boat or vessel identifiers.
- Anything you'd rather we didn't have.
Third parties
BayCast uses the following third-party services to deliver the product:
- Cloudflare — content delivery and the data proxy worker.
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe stores card details; we never see them.
- IMOS / AODN, HYCOM, Open-Meteo — public ocean-data sources. Outbound only — no personal data is sent.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your account data, or have it deleted, at any time by emailing [email protected]. Saved GPS marks are stored on your device only — clear your browser storage to delete them.
