Terms of Service

These are the terms you accept when you use BayCast. Plain English where we can manage it. Placeholder — final terms to be reviewed by legal before public launch.

What BayCast is

BayCast is an offshore ocean-conditions tool for Australian anglers, delivered as a web app at baycast.com.au. We surface satellite SST, ocean currents, GPS-mark conversion, and derived fishing-intelligence layers from public scientific data sources.

Refunds

We honour Australian Consumer Law. If BayCast doesn't deliver what's described — or you got billed by mistake — email [email protected] within 14 days of the charge and we'll sort it out.

Safety — read this

BayCast is for fishing planning, not navigation. The ocean data shown comes from satellite and model sources with their own latency, masking, and error margins. Coastal margins are masked or gap-filled at the source. Currents are model output, not measurements. Use BayCast alongside — not instead of — your boat's GPS, sounder, BOM forecasts, and Marine Rescue advice.

You are responsible for your own safety, your crew's safety, and any decisions you make on the water based on what you see in BayCast.

Acceptable use

Don't scrape, redistribute, or resell the data layers — many of them carry upstream licence requirements (see About this data). Don't try to break the proxy or impersonate other users. Don't use BayCast for anything illegal.

Liability

BayCast is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reedy's Rigs is not liable for losses arising from use of the service, outages, data inaccuracies, or anything else outside our reasonable control. Nothing here limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged on this page and emailed to active subscribers. The current version always lives at this URL.
